July 2024

Julian is so good at explaining her treatments and is a great listener. She always is very knowledgeable with any questions I have and then some. I can’t believe how much she has helped my pain. I was told I needed surgery by my neurosurgeon and wanted to avoid it. Her treatments have been priceless.

Julian Pierce, M.S. L.Ac

Julian Pierce is a licensed acupuncturist with a passion for helping and educating those around her. Her love for acupuncture began after she suffered from an autoimmune disorder that was misdiagnosed and treated as depression and anxiety. After her symptoms worsened on anti-depressants, she went for a second opinion and was later diagnosed and treated for Grave’s disease. Although she was eventually correctly treated with Western medicine, her symptoms did not completely resolve until she went through consistent acupuncture and herbal treatment, this sparked her interest in Traditional Chinese Medicine and she knew she had to help others the same way she was helped. She graduated from SUNY Fredonia with a B.S. in Business-Communications and later pursued her dream of receiving her M.S. in Acupuncture from the Finger Lakes School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

After taking over 3,000 credit hours in studies and clinical work, Julian took her NCCAOM boards and became licensed in NYS. Prior to graduation, Julian traveled abroad to China where she was able to observe acupuncture in a clinical setting at the Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of TCM in Hangzhou. Immediately after graduation, Julian set sail the Norwegian Jade cruise ship where she treated patients around the world, however, after 7 months on board Julian realized her true passion was to bring her love of acupuncture close to home.

She now practices Traditional Chinese Medicine at Park Place Acupuncture PLLC where she treats patients for a variety of conditions such as anxiety, depression, digestive problems, weight gain, menopause, pain and much more. She provides her patients with the care and understanding they need in order to achieve the results they desire. She is excited to assist patients on their journey to better health and looks forward to making an impact in her community.

Offerings

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a 3,000 year old medicine that is scientifically proven to treat a wide variety of conditions through stimulating the central nervous system. By strategically placing hair-like thin needles into the skin, acupuncture provokes certain biological responses in order to relieve symptoms and improve health. At Park Place Acupuncture Julian has experience in treating many painful conditions such as TMJ, back pain, knee pain, sciatica, arthritis, and more. However, although acupuncture is notorious for it’s benefits in treating pain, it is useful in treating a wide range of conditions such as anxiety, depression, insomnia, weight gain, infertility, menopause, and much more.

Nutrition

Food can either harm or heal the body. Traditional Chinese Medicine recognizes that food is medicine and eating the proper diet regularly is important, but especially while receiving acupuncture treatment. At Park Place Acupuncture, Julian provides nutritional guidance tailored to each individual to help with the success of their treatments.

Cupping

Cupping therapy is used to relieve tight muscles and tension that may be contributing to pain. The localized suction from cupping penetrates deep into soft tissue allowing it to release harmful toxins and waste products that build over time . Cupping helps with lymphatic drainage, promotes circulation, and stretches and activates the skin that allows for better movement and less pain.

Gua Sha

While this traditional Chinese medicine modality has recently become mainstream due its benefits in promoting a more youthful appearance, it is traditionally used as part of an acupuncture treatment for many painful conditions. It is a method in which a trained professional scrapes the skin at a site of soreness with a smooth-edged tool to improve circulation, reduce inflammation, and inhibit pain.

Tui Na

Tui na, or Chinese medical massage, is the manual manipulation of soft body-tissue. Tui na is used to reduce pain, increase blood flow to an area of pain or injury, stimulate lymphatic flow, and promote relaxation.
